It's funny how they only show like 5 or 6 plays, and then a couple of them over and over again. Also, they didn't really show much of his speed, like on go routes. Does Maryland just not run a lot of those?
Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I have seen some highlights from some games last year where they send him on go routes and he looks pretty damn fast. I remember seeing 3 or 4. Thing is, this year, they have a new coordinator, and he's a West Coast Offense guy, so it's a lot of screens, dumps, play action, but not as much in the way of go routes. I think they are going to do the reverses, bubble screens, and handoffs they show in this video, and try and get him the ball in as many ways as they can. As long as the defense stays home and blows up the gaps, the Bears should be ok.
These highlights are all from just the one game. Heyward-Bey can do everything. But the QBs can't really get him the ball downfield right now.
He ripped off a large number of bombs last year and two years ago. (Against Miami in 06, he had 67 and 96 yard TD catches.
