Verran Tucker Mid-Season Highlights

Many, many thanks to Danzig for putting this together at my request. A superb video, as always. When you watch Tucker, two things jump out at you. First, he has a natural comfort catching the football, regardless of his hand and body position, be it thumbs down or thumbs up, in stride, or laying out. Second, the guy has a great suddenness and burst in his running style, both off the line, out of breaks, and after the catch.

Remember, Tucker's only been in this offense since the start of fall camp. He did not go through scout team last season, or spring or summer practice. Yet the kid is emerging as one of Cal's go-to receivers. That is pretty impressive, especially given that receivers typically take 1 to 1.5 years to really get comfortable in most offenses, including this one. Enjoy the video. Also, OSU preview will be up this evening.
