There's beaten, and then there's scarred for life

To lighten the disturbingly somber mood this bye week, here is some perspective on the art of having your heart ripped out in the sport of football. This is a classic if you have not seen it before, not only for the football drama, but for the "authentic" Texas play by play. Enjoy.

That could be the worst thing I've ever seen. That may have scarred me for life just watching it...

Now imagine you live in Plano East, drive a forklift for a living, and live and die with every moment of Plano East high school football. After that game, there's a good chance you up-ended a pocket rocket of Wild Turkey and forced yourself into oncoming traffic in the hopes of ending it all. Of course, like everything else in your life, that plan didn't work quite how you'd hoped, and you passed out on the shoulder before you could make it into the road. You woke up with a bad headache and soiled trousers, dragged yourself shamelessly through the main street of town like Dennis Hopper in Hoosiers, and when you got home, did the only thing you ever do after Plano East's last game of the season: suck down some Pepto, wash it down with a Miller, and start thinking about next season.
